Did you happen to see Pioneer Title Agency in the latest AZ Business Angels magazine? Our very own Tom Davis was interviewed on how to cultivate a corporate giving program, such as our Old School program.
Coming up with ideas isn’t always easy, so Tom, along with a handful of other Valley business leaders, provided some great suggestions on how to launch successful community initiatives within their companies or to significantly expand programs to help fill the needs of others across Arizona.
“Making the actual decision on who and how to give back means something to everyone in your company, not just the decision-makers,” said Tom. “It not only gives those at the top ideas they would have never thought of on their own, but gives a new perspective on what the team truly cares about and what would motivate them to participate.
As a result of this advice, Pioneer’s executive leadership turned to its staff last year and asked the team to submit ideas and proposals on how they wanted to band together to help their community. And from this, Old School was born!
Our Old School program allows each of its 65 branches to come up with their own ideas—based on the needs of their own local communities—on how to support local schools, both through fundraising and proactive volunteer efforts. Pioneer even gives each branch member paid time off to volunteer on “Old School” initiatives.
So far, we have had an outpouring of Old School projects from our team—we can’t wait to see what happens with it. Keep up the great work!
