Yuma's Patina Plaza Branch Plants Garden for Their Old School Project

« TITLE TALK / Yuma's Patina Plaza Branch Plants Garden for Their Old School Project

We have some great news to share from our Patina Plaza branch in Yuma! The branch has recently partnered with Immaculate Conception School to help them plant and perform general upkeep on their garden, a project that this small but mighty branch intends to maintain throughout the entire school year. Upon hearing about Pioneer Title’s Old School Philanthropy initiative, Maria Tirado, an assistant escrow officer at the Patina Plaza branch, reached out to the vice principal at Immaculate Conception School, Gus Trujillo. He mentioned that the school is always looking for donations to help get the garden started and Maria decided her branch could do the school one better—they’d help plant the garden! At the beginning of September, Maria did just this. Each of the students were also tasked with planting their very own seed, something that Maria was more than happy to help them with. In addition to helping prep the garden, the branch also donated a Lowe’s gift card to the school that they can use towards garden supplies. “The goal of our school garden is to teach children to love planting and show them where some of our food comes from. Yuma is located in the Southwest part of Arizona where agriculture is a great part of the economy especially during winter months,” said Gus. The Patina Plaza branch will continue to maintain the garden throughout the entire school year. Each of the three branch employees will take turns visiting the garden as needed.
