Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which affects 1 in 3 women nationally. In Arizona, we have 35 emergency shelters, transitional housings, counseling centers and other agencies that support domestic violence survivors—at least one in every county. One of these prevention agencies is Stepping Stones, located in Prescott Valley, and has three thrift stores where all proceeds benefit the agency and the agency’s mission of preventing domestic violence. Before moving to Phoenix and eventually joining Pioneer, our very own Susan Filer, of the Phoenix Peak branch, actually helped opened the very first Stepping Stones Thrift. And since then, that building where it was started has been sold…but to who? Pioneer’s sister company, Yavapai Title Agency in fact!
