Every year the Snowflake/Taylor Chamber of Commerce holds an awards banquet to recognize outstanding businesses and people within the community. This year, Pioneer Title Agency’s very own Wendy Brown of the Pinetop branch was one of three women nominated by local business owners and Chamber of Commerce board members for “Business Woman of the Year.”
When she joined the Pioneer team in 2016, Wendy would make visits to Snowflake/Taylor to visit brokerages and local
businesses. Over the last three years she has stayed active in the community by attending as many events as she could, including classes, Chamber of Commerce events, and other community festivities. One of her favorite Snowflake events is the Snowflake Harvest Fest which she attends with her family each year to get pumpkins from a local farm, play games, and eat fare from local food trucks.
Over time, Wendy has built some great relationships in Snowflake/Taylor and loves the community. “They are so friendly and welcoming!” Wendy commented. “One of my favorite things about the Snowflake/Taylor businesses and their community is the passion they have for keeping things local, shopping local, using local businesses, and the passion they have for one another. They truly watch out for their neighbors. When there is a need of any kind, they all pull together to make it happen.” A strong proponent of shopping local herself, Wendy often tries to use Snowflake/Taylor businesses to provide services for events.
Pioneer Title Agency opened a new office in Snowflake in 2018, managed by Mandi Perkins. But just because there is a new branch in town, does not mean the Snowflake/Taylor community has seen the last of Wendy. She still attends Chamber of Commerce meeting along with Mandi and her assistant Heather Peterson. She is also looking forward to being involved in Snowflake’s Annual Pioneer Days celebration this July, which celebrates the town’s founding. After all, the relationships she has built over the years are about more than business; they are about true community.
“I am so very honored.” Wendy reflected on her nomination. Though someone else took home the award at the banquet, she should be very proud of her accomplishments and the respect she has earned within the community. Congratulations, Wendy!
